New release: Nic Bommarito makes his blocSonic debut!
Back in 2007, the very talented Nic Bommarito made his first blocSonic appearance on volume 3 of our netBloc series. Today I’m exceedingly pleased to present to you his debut release for this humble label, Elle va au Japon, the first single from his magnificent forthcoming album A Quiet Age which will be unleashed next Tuesday.
If you’re not already familiar with Nic’s distinctive sound, get ready to hear something special. Floating somewhere in the realm of shoegaze, ambient & folk, it’s an ethereal sound with a substance that sticks with you. The single’s title track is made even more incredible by the work of Brendan Held on violin.
As we are wont to do with our maxBloc singles, we made sure that this one’s packed with non-album goodies… including remixes by American Green, dustmotes & Cheese N Pot-C!
A very special thanks to Nic and everyone involved in this release! Welcome to the blocSonic fam, Nic!
I’d also like to extend a thank you to Benjamin Wright, the talented illustrator whose outstanding work graces Nic’s album and singles.
Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Remember… everything we release is cool to share! Always keep the music moving… share it… blog it… podcast it! If you’re in radio… support independent music and broadcast it!.
