New Bloc Fam, Old Bloc Magic
KAKKI Presents A Cheese N Pot-C Two-Sider For Last Call
Two brothers, one liquor cabinet, and a producer named KAKKI holding the keys.
Cheese N Pot-C are back. The Port Coquitlam-bred, southern-Kyushu-based duo — recording together since 1989, founding members of the P.U.C.K. (Previously Unknown Canadian Kids) crew — just dropped their 23rd CNP joint at blocSonic. And this time, KAKKI’s behind the boards for the whole ride.
“KAKKI Presents…” is a two-sider built for the bar. A-side "Liquor Cabinet" has Pot-C and Cheese trading verses over a KAKKI beat, Cheese handling the cuts. Flip it for "Taps" — same lineup, more rounds. Boom-bap with last call written all over it.
Here’s the thing about these two. They’ve been making rap out of “dogshit and tinfoil” since before the internet existed. Self-taught. Low-key to the point of self-sabotage. The kind of heads who stole every pop can in the suburbs just to fund a new 4-track. That ethos? Still fully intact, right here at blocSonic.
Enjoy this fortyFive… blocSonic’s take on the 7" single. A side, B side, nothing over six minutes. Quick, clean, gone before you sober up.
Pour one out. Then pour one in.
Yo… KAKKI welcome to the bloc fam! Extra MEGA thanks to you and CNP! The Dopeness.
Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Tha Bloc Report 94: New Joints Meet Archive Gold
Episode 94 is here, and Donnie Ozone came to dig.
Every month, Donnie raids the blocSonic vault and comes back up with an armful. This time it’s 12 tunes — fresh joints and deep-cut archive gems — laid end to end in that signature Bloc Report flow. On the bill: Donnie Ozone himself, Cheese N Pot-C (produced by KAKKI), CLOUDWARMER, Spiedkiks, Y.K.Beats, Timezone Lafontaine, Mported Flows, and C-Doc. That’s a spread. New and old, familiar and fresh, all under one roof.
And then there’s the back half.
This month’s Timezone Lafontaine 20 Minute Workout is a 16-track sprint through the blocSonic archive — electric, restless, packed wall to wall. Timezone never just plays records. He stacks them, flips them, and dares you to keep up. Twenty minutes that move like five.
Here’s the thing about Tha Bloc Report: it’s a tour guide for the catalog. Launched back in September 2018 by founding host Pot-C of Cheese N Pot-C, handed to Donnie in October 2022, and still doing exactly what it set out to do — pointing you toward great #ccmusic you might’ve missed. Free, lossless, no gatekeeping. Just press play and let the crate-diggers do the work.
Episode 94 is live. Grab it in FLAC, MP3 or OGG and let it ride.
Thanks as always to Donnie and Timezone for delivering another great episode of Tha Bloc Report! You guys really never disappoint.
Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver content you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do.
