New releases: Today we celebrate Netlabel Day with new music by Ant The Symbol, Donnie Ozone and Luck & Doc!

Netlabel Day 2017!

Today’s a day of mixed feelings. Although we’re thrilled to once again participate with Netlabel Day and deliver some great new music to our community, we’re saddened because we’ve recently lost one of our own. This past Sunday, the extremely talented Richmond, Virginia rapper and blocSonic artist Brian Davis aka The Honorable Sleaze passed away due to complications during surgery (his family need your help, too). Since his passing, it’s become quite clear how much an impact he’s made in Richmond and around the world. He’d be the first to give side eye to that last sentence, but people have a weird way of not showing love & respect until someone passes away. It’s almost eerie, Tha Silent Partner just last week released an album that deals with this (be sure to check out the PDF liner-notes) and today we release new music by Luck & Doc entitled “Live At The Wake” which has been in the works for months and mainly deals with the decline in quality of mainstream hip-hop. Of course, it’s normal to find strange connections after the fact. Humans love to connect things.

Anyway, we’ve got some great new music for you, so thank you for listening and be sure to check out all the other great music released for Netlabel Day, by visiting the official site.

Luck & Doc deliver an instant hip-hop classic!

What began simply as a SIX ONNA 7 eventually evolved into a complete album. When BADLUCK and C-Doc realized how well they work together, the ideas just kept flowing. What resulted is one of blocSonic’s best hip-hop albums to date. I’d go so far as to say that “Live At The Wake” is a brand new HIP-HOP classic! Get downloading… you don’t want to miss this.

As stated before, this is one of my favorite hip-hop albums we’ve released thus far. Not to take away anything from any of the incredible music we drop, but Luck & Doc… you make a hell of a team! I’m already fiending for the next album… LOL. Thank you both for this gift to hip-hop heads. Truly back to da awe!

Ant The Symbol needs to sleep on it

As always, when Ant The Symbol delivers something new, it’s a genuine treat for the ears. For his new five song EP “I’m Gonna Need To Sleep On It”, he continues to experiment with new ways to bring the funk to life in his own way. Somehow he managed to create something that reminds me of 80s Art of Noise and 200s AoN all wrapped up into Ant sonics. Enjoy.

Ant… I just want to thank you for making this terrific new release happen… it’s very much appreciated. Having lost one of your close friends this week, you would have been justified in putting it off.

Donnie delivers homemade Cookies!

Donnie delivers a tasty new track that finds him channelling that classic Schoolly D sound all while rapping about tasty, homemade cookies. Gobble it up!

Yo Donnie… thanks for another tasty hip-hop gem!

Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Remember… everything we release is cool to share! Always keep the music moving… share it… blog it… podcast it! If you’re in radio… support independent music and broadcast it!
