Timezone Lafontaine kicks open 2026 with Dust and Fire
Welcome to 2026. Let’s talk dust.
Timezone Lafontaine wastes no time kicking open the new year with “It’s Dust,” the first maxi-single from his deep-diving full-length, Unrealest. This 3-track maxBloc doesn’t just accompany the album… it expands it. Think of it as the hidden backroom behind the backroom.
The release leads with the “Who Is It?” Mix of “It’s Dust”… a reimagining that rips through layered illusions and dusty distractions with new urgency. The haunting and cinematic “Tech Noir” also re-emerges, this time with the "Trackers Mix" featuring longtime blocSonic co-conspirator Headsnack, flipping the data paranoia dial deep into the red.
If you've been following Timezone via his surgical megamix work on Tha Bloc Report’s 20 Minute Workout segments, you already know he’s got the range. But here, he’s turning the knobs with the precision of a poet in a surveillance state. That final track? The original “It’s Dust” album version, restating its purpose, completing the loop.
This marks Timezone’s 10th official blocSonic release. A milestone, sure… but “It’s Dust” feels less like a celebration and more like a reminder: time’s ticking, perception’s shifting, and art’s still one of the realest tools we’ve got.
Start the year in the deep end.
Happy New Year to Timezone! Thanks for closing out 2025 with these gems!
