Headsnack Hands You 32 Beats and a Dare
Thirty-two instrumentals. Two discs. Zero bars. “Write Your Own Rhymes” is exactly what the title says it is — a double album of Headsnack beats stripped down to the bone, waiting for whoever’s got something to say.
If you’ve been following blocSonic since 2016, you know this guy. Eight solo releases. Two more with Regenerated Headpiece, the NYC crew that opened for Public Enemy and got name-checked in The Hipster Handbook. Four with EATM. Half of Headsnack & Primo Sol. That’s only counting what’s dropped here! A collaborator’s collaborator, showing up across the blocSonic catalog like a producer-shaped Where’s Waldo.
Normally he’s the hip-hop superhero taking swings at social media, consumerism and your food supply. Here, he steps back from the mic and lets the production talk. You’ve heard these tracks with vocals, now you hear the foundational joints!
Which brings us to the point. This isn’t a listening exercise — well, it is, but it isn’t only that. It’s an open invitation. Rappers, poets, weirdos with a voice memo app: the beats are here, the Creative Commons license is here, and the title is a direct instruction.
Grab it in FLAC, MP3 or OGG. Full artwork, full credits, full PDF booklet.
Then go do something with it.
Big thanks to Headsnack for the arsenal, and to all of you for keeping this thing alive.
Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Remember… everything we release is cool to share! Always keep the music moving… share it… blog it… podcast it! If you’re in radio… support independent music and broadcast it!
Peace
